1. Rincewind ,

Hi all,

our first day of the two-day 6 takes tournament has concluded. We would like to thank everyone for turning up and making up the numbers. We had to make one replacement: (unolover in place for sir-yazan.)
We would like to thank everyone for being patient throughout. This game can require a lot of thinking, and the game can stretch a bit long. And again, thank you for patience shown by everyone who had to wait for their groups to play.
Here's a small overview of what happened today. We had 16 players who qualified for the second round, (2 from each group, plus 2 lucky losers), ranked as follows with their scores:

  1. Cristina: 17.
  2. Raki: 20.
  3. rashad: 25.
  4. midomidomido: 38.
  5. Angelina-princess: 44.
  6. Balasana: 45.
  7. undertaker: 48.
  8. YNWA: 55.
  9. Jose: 56.
  10. MagicalKrrish: 58.
  11. mogosog: 60.

  13. farzad: 75.
  14. faraz: 80.
  15. boo-boo: score difference of: 0.
  16. Marina7: score difference of: 17.

These 16 players were divided based on their rankings into 4 groups using the format as follows:
Group A: players 1, 8, 9, 16,
Group B: players 2, 7, 10, 15,
Group C: players 3, 6, 11, 14,
Group D: players 4, 5, 12, 13.

hence the final groups were:
Group A: Cristina, YNWA, Jose, marina7,
Group B: raki, undertaker, MagicalKrrish, boo-boo,
Group C: rashad, Balasana, mogosog, faraz,
Group D: midomidomido, Angelina-princess, Rincewind, farzad.

We have 8 people who have qualified for the quarter finals, which would be played tomorrow at the same time, from 1pm eastern/5pm GMT.
Here is how they were ranked based on their scores in the second group stage:

  1. Raki: 37.
  2. Rincewind: 41.

  4. undertaker 42.
  5. rashad 56.

2. Epic_Krrish,

Hi everyone,

As we conclude our third 6takes tournament, we would like to start off by thanking all the players, spectators and everyone who helped out for making this an enjoyable and successful one. We had 28 players registered for this tournament – more than in any of the previous 6takes tournaments. It was also great to see so many new players joining and trying out 6takes for the first time.
Please join us in congratulating Rincewind for being the champion of this 6takes tournament. This is his third victory – he has won every single one of the 6takes tournaments! His ability to read the game, strategize and play under pressure is simply hard to match.
We would also like to Congratulate Raki for once again putting up a great fight in the finals against Rincewind. Raki has also been the runner up in all three of the 6takes tournaments.
The results for the Sunday portion of the tournament is as follows:
(Note: Score limit of quarters was 75, semmi’s 80, and finals 90.)

Quarter finals

  • Match 1: raki vs mogosog
  • Raki: 23. mogosog: 79.
  • Match 2: Rincewind vs Farzad
  • Rincewind: 48. farzad: 77.
  • Match 3: Marina7 vs Jose
  • marina7: 52. jose: 76.
  • Match 4: Undertaker v Rashad
  • undertaker: 45. rashad: 83.

After the quarter final results, the rankings were as follows:

  1. Raki 23.
  2. Undertaker 45.
  3. Rincewind 48.
  4. Marina7 52.

Semi finals

  • Match 1: Raki vs Marina7
  • Raki: 44. marina7: 84.
This was Marina’s first 6takes tournament and she did exceptionally well making it all the way to the semi finals. Marina performed very well in the second half of the game but the gap Raki had opened up in the first half of the game was too much to overcome.
  • Match 2: Rincewind vs Undertaker
  • Rincewind: 53. Undertaker: 84
This was Undertaker’s first appearance in a semi finals of a 6takes tournament. Despite how the final scores might appear, it was a very challenging game with the scores being close throughout. The scores half way through the match were as close as 37-46 in favor of Rincewind. However, in typical Rincewind fashion, he remained cool under pressure and pulled away in the second half of the game.

Final: Raki vs Rincewind
- Rincewind: 79. Raki: 103.
Another great game! This was a close game throughout with the momentum shifting back and forth, at first, Raki had the lead, the match remained close through the middle portion of the game with Rincewind pulling ahead by 24 points in the later stages of the game. From a score of 84-60, Raki Managed to pull the score to 78-89. However, Rincewind took control of the last round and as a result, became back to back to back champion of 6takes.

And with that, we close another 6takes tournament. We hope you had as much fun playing as we had organizing this tournament. We look forward to seeing all of you in future 6takes tournaments. Keep your eyes and ears open for a possible 6takes ranking system in the future! Here’s to many more players trying out this tough strategical game and also to more upcoming 6takes tournaments.
Thank you.
