1. glad,

Hello everyone, I am excited to announce that I am organizing a Cards Against Humanity tournament on Sunday, December 9th, 2024, with a total of 15 participants, including myself. The tournament will kick off at 10 AM India Standard Time, which corresponds to 4:30 AM GMT. All 15 of us will be playing at one table. I'm considering setting the target at 50 points. Does this sound good, or do you think the something should be adjusted? Please let me know. Thank you.

3. glad,

I think its best whatever changes people want they can report like it can be many dates, times, number of rounds. Then we can decide on common points.

7. Emerald,

cards against humanity in general is a hard game to organise let alone a tournament. I asked which voting mode you were doing because i only like one version and that was my deciding factor. But also, different people have different styles of what is funny to them. When I last did a little exam tournment, I struggled mainly because it was so subjective and leaves a lot of responsibility to the people taking part than what a tournament should be allowing. Therefore I don’t think it’s the best to do tournaments that are based on one’s personality and liking and if you are going to do one, then it has to have clear rules and structure. Sorry it diddn’t turn out the way you wanted.

8. Nikola,

Hello,
Emerald is quite right, I was personally also thinking about a tournament in The little exam, and the idea isn't completely abandoned, so maybe one day... There's also a kind of stagnation with tournaments and active communities on the English side not especially motivating me to do this, but that's an entirely separate topic.

It's also worth pointing out that what you are organizing here isn't a tournament, it's one big game. Just creating one table and having the maximum amount of players possible for a game isn't really a tournament. Usually, a tournament consists of several rounds, where players are progressively eliminated based on the system you establish, and until a final winner is identified.

Try to re-read your posts, multiple times if necessary, because that's a big factor for some people when they take the decision of signing up for a tournament or not. Putting in a wrong date doesn't give a particularly good impression. Of course, it's an oversight, it can happen to anybody, that's why it's usually good to have more than one organizer, or at least to ask a friend or two what they think about your message once you have it written down, it's a lot easier for somebody else to catch a potential mistake. We're not professionals here, so in any case mistakes will happen to all of us, but let's say that the date and time are two of the most important information before anybody can sign up or not.
If you notice a mistake, it's usually good practice to edit your first post later on so that it's clear for everybody, for instance your first post still continues saying Sunday, December 9th.

Emerald asked about the voting mode and the question wasn't answered, so that brings me to another item, when I organize a tournament, I typically make sure to create a table of that game and look through the list of options for that game one more time, it doesn't matter even if I am 100 percent sure that I know what I am doing, there could always be an optional rule or two I forgot.
Then, make the decision on how the tables should be configured, and list down the chosen rules in the post. The score limit is already listed here, so the only item you are missing is the voting mode.

Sorry that it didn't go as planned, but hopefully you will have better results next time.
