Hi there, i think it would be quite cool if you were able to place your ships diagonally, it would make it more fun.

This isn't in the standard rules, but yes, why not, as a possible extension.

I agree that it would be a good option to have the chance to place your ships diagonally at the start of a game as it will make it more interesting. The 2 ships i think tug-boats would be harder to find.

I have played a long time ago on a sighted board, i could feel the holes and could see red for hit and white for miss. I think it was not possible to place your ships diagonally because they would have fallen out, this is why this option was not available. Apparently it can be played on paper too, even in braille.

Yeah, it is realistic.
