I can't say if it applies to you but in England our internet provider offers a small amount of free space to create your own website. Maybe that does NOT apply to you but it mayy be worth looking into.

there are plenty of free hosts out there if you google around, x10hosting is one. podserver is another, though podserver is not a great one I must admit.
Point is, google is your friend.
